A few years ago, these former dancers were forced to leave the Paris Opera. To leave this legendary place is not only to say goodbye to the institution that has accompanied them for more than thirty-five years, that has allowed them to gain autonomy, to become part of a family of bodies and hearts, to experience pain, sorrow, joy and praise. Leaving the Opéra is also a new beginning, a new life. They have new careers, new projects in mind, but they all want to dance again, in a different way, with this body that no longer responds as it once did, but whose maturity is taking them elsewhere. Metamorphosis is therefore above all about these men and women from an emblematic community, whose art of dance forced them to withdraw from the world at a very young age, to avoid its complications and to accept that one day age would force them to join the other world.... when the art of dance, continues to leave its mark on their new history. Through these testimonies, this film echoes the stories of men and women who have experienced this obligatory passage at the end of a vocation.
